About the Artist

I grew up in Richmond and Oakland, California (part of the San Francisco Bay Area - for those who aren't familiar with the area). Like most refugee families that fled the Vietnam War by boat, we were poor, but we were together. My parents worked hard so we had a roof over our head, food on the table, and opportunity that they didn’t have when they were kids. I attended San Jose State University in San Jose, California, and studied under Consuelo Jimenez Underwood shortly after leaving the illustration program for the textiles program.

Paris became my home and inspiration as of March 2017. After having spent nearly a decade in the tech industry, I sold most of what I had and made the move to France to focus on Art and to be with my fiance.

After being diagnosed with severe depression when I was 21, I’ve found that acknowledging and appreciating the little things I come across helps me move my life along, one day at a time. This mentality has drawn me towards mushrooms, fungi, lichens, and the little things in nature that we overlook.

Languages spoken include English, Teochew, and Cantonese. French is currently in-progress.
