Jinny is an illustrator, photographer, and fiber artist based around San Francisco, California. She atteneded San Jose State University (SJSU), known for their illustration department, where she received her Bachelors in Studio Art in 2009, with an emphasis in Illustration and Textiles.

As the oldest daughter of refugees who escaped the Vietnam War, she worked her way through college and managed to graduate without the need for loans. Most of her professional life was spent working as a Data Analyst and Business Developer in the tech and video game industry, while taking on freelance illustration projects on the side. A few years ago, she left the tech industry to help with the family business and focus on developing her skills as an Artist.

There are 20 years worth of sketchbooks that Jinny keeps with her, dating back to 1996. Her illustration work has appeared at California animation conventions such as Fanime Con, Anime Expo, and Animation on Display from 2003 to 2010. As a long time member of Bay Area Artists Unite (since 2003), some of her illustration can be seen in a few publications of the BAAU Down Comic Anthologies. Professionally, Jinny has contributed technical illustrations to a few companies in Silicon Valley as well as a few commissioned illustration pieces.

Great Grandmother and Grandmother, both experienced embroiderers in Vietnam, taught her how to crochet, knit, embroider, and sew starting at the young age of 7. While her original major at SJSU was illustration, she switched majors to study under international fiber artist Consuelo Jimenez Underwood. There, Jinny assisted with teaching in the Fiber Arts department, and contributed her detailed handwork to some of Professor Underwood's pieces. Post-graduation she debuted nature-inspired Mushroom fiber sculptures at Walrus Shop in Oakland, California in 2014. Majority of those one-of-a-kind sculptures have sold and found loving homes.

Onwards and Upwards.

As of October 2016, Jinny is applying for graduate MA/MFA programs in Paris, France, and focus on developing her future as an international artist. She's in the process of moving to France in early 2017.
